Malawi is one of the five poorest countries in the world. Poorer countries have fewer resources than richer ones, to deal with the consequences of natural disasters.
Christian Aid is helping farmers in Malawi develop pigeon pea production. Resistant to drought, the pigeon pea has other benefits being high in protein and soil-revitalising.
